Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Hi, I’m Jessica and I’m your guide to smooth, and sparkly clean teeth. I’ve been here at Chalmers Dental for a while now as a part-time hygienist but recently made the jump to full-time. I worked with my last doctor in Rio Linda for about 10 years and his passion for dentistry led me to want to be a dentist too. Now that my son Ethan is in high school, I’m ready and able to take the plunge. So, in addition to working full time here, I also attend school refreshing my brain about things like Calculus and Biochem and all those things I previously was happy to forget. Don’t worry, I’m just getting started and I’ll be here for a while before I get into dental school. Dr. Chalmers and I even have this hair-brained idea that I could come work here as a dentist when I graduate. Imagine that!

Hi, I’m Stephanie and if you don’t know me, it’s because we haven’t met. I’m one of those open book people and to meet me is to know me. I’ve been here at Chalmers Dental since I moved to Sacramento from Oregon over nine years ago as a newlywed searching for sun and warmth. I love my patients here and feel like I’m visiting with friends and family every day that I am here. My husband Branden and I love spending time with family and have lots of fun taking bucket-list adventure vacations. Ask me about home repair projects…have I got stories for you!
Registered Dental Assistant (RDA )
Hi, I’m Maria and I keep a little bit of levity in the office. Someone has got to keep Dr. Chalmers from talking all day! Good thing I like to work out, because I’m constantly on the move here and at home. My husband, Hector and I have two sons and a really active dog. I’ve been in the dental field for over 20 years and Des says that I am the most gentle person in the office. So, if you’ve got a small mouth, I’m your girl!
Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
Hi, I’m Tammy and I’m a little ray of sunshine. Seriously, I love life. I’ve been a dental assistant for over 30 years and my very favorite part of my job is getting to know every patient on a personal level. My biggest passion in life are my kids, Kyle and Courtney, who I try to see as much as allowed by their successful, busy lives. But, in between those times, I am an adventurer. I love exercise and you’ll find me running or biking along the river, traveling to warm, beachside locations whipping a gourmet meal in my newly remodeled kitchen. Ask me about my adventures doing volunteer dentistry in Jamaica…I will tell you about the power of a smile!

Hi, I’m Tammy! Yep, you read that right. Tammy. Dr. Chalmers hired two people named Tammy, with the same spelling for the same RDA position. Apparently the first one worked out so well, he figured he would just try and replicate her. I’m the newest member of the team, having worked for my last dentist, Dr. Homer for the past 20 years. I have two girls in junior high and their gymnastics and softball schedules keep my husband and I running. Seriously, we don’t really have any spare time right now, but in the occasion that we get some downtime, my husband Russ and I enjoy camping, playing softball and going for walks together. I’m looking forward to meeting you soon as I integrate myself into this crazy Chalmers Dental family.

Hi, my name is Susan and I enjoy long walks on the beach. Haha, as a transplant from Southern California, I don’t get to visit the beach anymore, but I’ve got plenty to keep me busy. Between three kids (four if you count my husband, David) and two grandchildren, my schedule is packed. As much as I love dentistry, I really love heading out for new adventures over the weekend, checking out quality coffee shops around the area (who settles for Starbucks?) and giving back to the community. As the person who reviews treatment for all our patients, I know we will meet soon…that is unless you come when the Cardinals or Dodgers are in SF or playing each other. David and I have better things to do then!
Treatment and Insurance Administrator
Hi, I’m Josh and I have the honor of being the only other male that works in this office! Way back in high school I was a patient here in the office and Dr. Chalmers apparently always thought I was a nice kid. One day, when I was getting my teeth cleaned, I overheard Steph talking to Des about hiring an assistant. I had NO IDEA what to expect, but I rushed home, threw together a resume, put on a clean shirt and rushed back over and asked to be considered for the position. Fast forward several years, a degree from UC Davis and a wife and here I am, an expert in dental insurance and pursuing my dream to become an attorney. I love my wife Shaina and our Shelties, Creedence and Prudence (can you guess my musical taste?). I love gardening and cooking and through necessity have gotten really good at car and home repair. I guess you could say I am a Josh of All Trades!
Hi, I’m Kori and I’ll be the first person you see when you walk through our doors. I moved to Carmichael from the Bay Area and graduated from El Camino (Josh and I went to school together and apparently I got the job here because he said I was nice and smart). I love oldies music, which is good because Josh totally can not help himself from singing along. I’m in school to become a nurse and I spend a lot of my time studying. I like taking pictures of my kitties Ice and Coco and adventuring out of town with my boyfriend Sean. We love going to the ocean, hiking and finding new places to swim every summer.
Operations and Development Manager
Hi, I’m Brandie. I’m one of the newest additions to the team. I’ve been friends with Jay and Des forever. I worked for a large association management company for 23 years (where I met Des as a 16 year-old trying to make gas money), and Des finally convinced me to join the adventure that is Chalmers Dental. I’ve taken over most of her role and make sure the day to day operations of the business run smoothly. When I’m not at the office, you’ll find me trying to keep up with my two teenagers and stealing visits with friends and family and snuggling with my cat, Sammy. I love the beach, being outdoors and DIY projects. Except for when Des makes me try to replicate glittery reindeer decorations for the office…
Chief Operation Officer
Hi! I’m Desirae (a.k.a. Dr’s wife). I was raised in Placerville and graduated from El Dorado High School. I have a degree in Business Administration from University of California, Riverside. Before Jay convinced me to move into the dental industry, I worked as a Business Manager and Events Coordinator for JPMorgan Chase & Co. I used to work at the office full-time, but I’ve cut way back and now oversee all financial, marketing, philanthropic and long-term business planning for our practice. Honestly, I’m too much of a people person to get meaningful work done and prefer connecting the community to our practice.
My best times include long laughs with friends. Like to the point that my cheeks hurt and I can’t breathe. I’ve been kind of obsessed with the Dave Matthews Band since 1996 and with my best friends, follow them around the West Coast every year for at least a week. Otherwise, I love hanging out with my family, being uber competitive with my trivia team, walking my ridiculously large lab, Olive and driving my tween and teenager all around town.
