Retainers

Retainers Sacramento, CA

Maintain the success of your orthodontic treatment.

Removable retainers are clear, thin, slightly flexible, and made of a plastic-like material. They fit the exact shape and placement of the teeth.

Not only are there removable retainers, but there are also fixed retainers. Both types of retainers hold teeth in their new positions after “active” orthodontic treatment is completed. This allows newly formed bone to harden around the teeth. Wearing retainers as instructed is the key to maintaining the success of orthodontic treatment. Patients may be advised to wear retainers full-time for the first six months after “active” treatment ends, with subsequent wear time reduced to night-time only. When not in the mouth, removable retainers should be kept in the case provided by Dr. Chalmers.

ClearBow Hawley Retainers

ClearBow Hawley RetainersThe ClearBow is an aesthetic component used in the fabrication of retainers and other types of orthodontic appliances. The ClearBow comprises a clear plastic strap that is designed to provide you with superior aesthetics, optimum tooth contact for superior retention and unparalleled durability for a longer lasting retainer. Conventional steel wires are unsightly, can scratch teeth and also provide very little tooth surface contact.

Traditional Hawley retainers that leave you hiding an unsightly “metal wire smile are a thing of the past. Now you can confidently show off your beautiful smile with the durable ClearBow Hawley retainer; a new clear retainer that is fabricated with a virtually unbreakable, BPA-free plastic orthodontic wire (ClearBow). The ClearBow orthodontic wire is made in Canada and is not damaged by boiling water or stained by coffee, cola, beet juice or red wine.

Vivera® Retainers

Vivera RetainersStudies show that without retainers straight teeth can gradually shift back towards their initial position. This is a common occurrence with all orthodontic treatment, but is one that can easily be overcome. Wearing Vivera retainers after traditional braces or Invisalign treatment means you are keeping your teeth in their new position and protecting your smile and investment.

Why choose Vivera retainers?

Vivera retainers are custom made for you with the same state-of-the-art technology used to make Invisalign aligners. Because the retainers are custom made from an impression or scan of your teeth, you will benefit from a precise fit and therefore more comfortable fit. Vivera’s proprietary material is 30% stronger, which helps maintain your teeth in the desired position. It also reduces the risk of the retainer cracking or breaking, which means a more durable retainer that you can count on.
